Provided you don’t mind a bit of mess, this is another ‘can’t go wrong’ art activity that young children will love!
What you need:
- Paper for your background (I used black cartridge)
- A variety of paper shapes in different colours
- Glue stick
- Paint (I used washable acrylic, yellow and white)
- Potato masher
- Bubble wrap – attached to a plastic cup with rubber band (optional extra!)
Lay out all the paper shapes on the table and let your child /children select shapes and glue them onto their background – this can be done carefully or randomly!
Next, put some paint onto a flat tray (like an ice cream container lid) and let them dip the potato masher in the paint and stamp to their heart’s delight! Squares of bubble wrap can also be attached to the bottom of a plastic cup and used as a stamp too! The results, no matter what look wonderfully colourful, and most importantly, the process for kids is so enjoyable.
